The McIntosh County Shouters' top priority is to preserve and protect the Gullah Geechee heritage and the ring shout. By educating school children, they are able to continue keeping the legacy of their heritage alive.
The current economy has decimated arts and humanities programs in schools across the board which makes it an even more challenging environment in which to keep this rich cultural heritage alive. The McIntosh County Shouters need your support to help them continue to travel to schools within and outside Georgia in an effort to preserve and protect the Gullah Geechee culture and the traditional authentic ring shout.
